Perched on a hilltop in the heart of the Dordogne’s Bessède Forest, this 18th-century manor house offers peaceful views of wooded valleys and fields. The house, carefully restored to preserve its historic charm, features exposed beams, tiled floors, and an open fireplace. The recently renovated cellar includes a small honesty bar with local wines. With four charming bedrooms, a billiards table, and space for games, it’s an ideal spot to relax. Outside, the extensive grounds offer a heated pool, boules area, and table tennis, making it perfect for families.
The Dordogne region offers rich history and stunning landscapes, with the Dordogne River just 13km away for fishing, canoeing, or swimming. Nearby, the medieval village of Monpazier (12km) offers bike rentals, horseback riding, and a lively Thursday market. The region is known for its castles, bastide towns, prehistoric caves, and dramatic scenery, including the Gouffre de Padirac caves and the Lascaux cave replicas. Monpazier, Eymet, Villefranche, and Brantôme showcase well-preserved historical sites, while the 11th-century Benedictine abbey in St-Avit-Sénieur adds to the area's charm.
The ground floor of the house features a spacious living area with a large open fireplace and a dining table, creating a cozy atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped with a range oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. There is also a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom (no WC) and a separate WC for added convenience. On the first floor, the master bedroom offers an en-suite shower room with a WC. Additionally, there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with a separate shower, and a separate WC.
The owner of this villa will consider requests to bring a pet dog (no other pets). Please advise us of the age and breed of your dog, and we will contact the owner on your behalf. The owner reserves the right to refuse the request.
