This serene home is just a five minutes’ walk from the center of the historic town, Semur en Auxois.
Walk to town along the river and buy your fresh bread and croissants from one of the two local baker.
Stroll along the medieval pedestrian streets and visit the Collegiale (a step down from being a Cathedral)
restored by the 19 th century famous architect, Violet le Duc. (who also restored Notre Dame in Paris).
Sunday morning visit the market in town and taste the local produce. This house makes a great base for
visiting the many sights of Burgundy…The Abbey of Fontenay, Dijon, Vezelay, Flavigny, Chablis, Epoisse,
Cluny, Beaunne, the many wineries on the famous wine route and the many castles of Burgundy. You
may also use it as a very economical base to visit Paris which is just an hour train trip (Train station is in
Montbard).
