Welcome to our house, located in the historical centre of the charming village of Nurachi, in the central-western area of Sardinia, in the region of Campidano di Oristano. The area was already inhabited in pre-Nuragic and Nuragic times, due to the presence in the territory of circular and elliptical huts of a village from the Eneolithic period (third millennium B.C.) and several nuraghi.
In the Middle Ages it belonged to the Giudicato of Arborea and was part of the curatoria of the Campidano of Oristano. At the fall of the Giudicato (1420) it became part of the Marquisate of Oristano, and at the final defeat of the Arborensi (1478) it passed under Aragonese rule, where it became a royal fiefdom. In the 18th century, it was incorporated into the Marquisate of Arcais, feud of the Flores Nurra family, from whom it was redeemed in 1839 with the abolition of the feudal system.
From 1927 to 1946 it was united to the municipality of Riola Sardo.
Until 16 July 1974, when the province of Oristano was established, it belonged to the province of Cagliari. Its territory extends in the Sinis peninsula up to the Cabras pond.in the province of Oristano. Here you can immerse yourself in the authenticity of Sardinia, enjoying a strategic location that will allow you to discover the wonders of the area. The enchanting beaches of the Sinis Park and the historical ruins of Tharros are only 15 minutes away by car, while Oristano is just 5 km away, offering all the comforts of a city. In the village of Nurachi and nearby Riola you will find supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries and everything you need for your stay. It is said that in Nurachi you can breathe in a thousand-year-old culture. A place of ancient origin that guards history, memories and traditions, sharing them with its visitors. Vernaccia vineyards, cereals and citrus fruits are cultivated here, and fishing is still carried out with small boats of ancient origins, observing the due rules of the Marine Protected Area Penisola del Sinis - Isola di Mal di Ventre.
Nurachi is houses built with unfired earth bricks; a name, and a municipal coat of arms, that remind us that this territory was inhabited already in prehistoric times; Neolithic settlements such as the villages Mar'e Pauli, Pauli ‘e Fenu, Cuccuru ’e Mari and Gribaia; wineries that still produce Vernaccia and other wines using traditional methods; the Pischeredda nature reserve, a protected and enhanced wetland area, strongly identified with the inhabitants of Nurachi; agriculture, fishing, small businesses; the multimedia ethnographic museum set up in an old manor house, which provides an almost real immersion into the natural environment and material culture of these places; the parish church of San Giovanni Battista, one of the most important early mediaeval complexes in Sardinia; and, of course, its friendly, hard-working community.
This rich social, cultural and historical heritage has given rise to an annual event full of experiences, meetings, routes and workshops between land and water in the territory of Nurachi, <>. NURACQUE cultural interweaving.
Another significant cultural event is between May and June, with CantinArte, a review of cultural events between literature, contemporary art, music, painting and theatre, set against the backdrop of a historic wine cellar in Nurachi.

The territory of Nurachi is an internationally recognised site of naturalistic interest as a wetland worthy of protection and therefore included both in the list of Wetlands of International Interest according to the Ramsar Convention and in the Special Protection Areas according to the 79/409/EEC directive (Birds Directive). Of particular value is the Pischeredda naturalistic oasis, with the tower of the same name that stands guard over the Cabras pond.
In recent decades, the municipality, also in collaboration with neighbouring municipalities and various other bodies and nature associations, has embarked on a course of protection and enhancement of its wetlands. A Wetlands Park has been created, with the creation of nature trails and birdwatching points; initiatives are carried out with the Area Marina Protetta Penisola del Sinis - Isola di Mal di Ventre, with the Flag Fishing Association, and with the ‘’MEDSEA Foundation‘’.
